Abraham Piper
Добавлен 26 июл 2010
The official home of Abraham Piper’s intermittent show “Abraham Piper Says Too Much,” the show where Abraham Piper says too much. We try to keep things self-explanatory around here.
In addition, this is the best place to revisit Piper’s archives. All past TikTok and Instagram videos are published here with transcripts for searchability.
We also post occasional compilations of his shorter vids around various themes just for the hell of it.
As always, come along if ya feel like it. 🤷♀️🙏

Sorry, dude, but it looks like you're still obsessed with what you now considered to be other people's religions. If you were really free, you'd be busy doing something else.
Thank you, Mr Piper, for your nice compliment. Yes, I'm 60 and chose to not procreate. My 57 year old brother made the same decision. I have never regretted that decision. I've been an antinatalist since before I knew it was a thing. Why? Because I've never been happy. I've lived my entire life in depression. Everywhere I look, there is suffering. It's overwhelming. So there was no way I was going to bring a child into this world!
Define "good". From where did that definition come ?
Buddhism, at its core, isn't definable. I liked another video where he says he identifies as 'nothing'. That's probably the most 'Buddhist' world view there is.
from boston, i pronounce worcester as wooster . but i will ALWAYS pronounce it wor-chester-shire because i think its funny

Yes, and love it!!!
The problem I have Abe is that on Twitter I lightly dialoged with you and you quickly blocked me. I do not think you have an open mind.
For the sake of mom& dad you should just keep your mouth shut and just go about your business quietly.
Where are the men who want to stay childfree? Nobody seems to botter them...
I've seen a group of people try... and it didn't workout well
My suggestion for him would be to keep talking to God. She can cut through any BS about people being involuntarily "doomed."
I am also childless and single and that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it!
That assunes that the “wholes” you are discussing (namely, people and the universe) have the same sort of unity as the wholes that they are. I would say that a person is a substantial unity such that it is conscious through an operation of one of its parts. The universe is not such a unity.
Life is a dumpster fire. Why would I bring someone else into a burning building to burn with me?
It’s not really embarrassing to me, I find that other people do not grasp the meaning of what I’m trying to communicate wich ironically increases the dread d/t the realization that we are so limited. Relying on language, which in itself is limiting, to communicate concepts that should be, in my opinion, out of our minds. And yet we are stuck with this thoughts. It’s dreadful, disturbing and even terrifying. I know others would find it so, and sometimes it’s best to spare them of this feeling.
My perception of reality, for what its worth, is that what is, simply is. Its factual and indisputable, even if I don't fully undertsand it. It doesnt matter. What is doesn't depend on my perception of it. It is, with or without me.

Barely Impressive Behavioural "Latch", Effed.
Yes this is how I view it too.

The reason certain people speak dialects closer to standard forms than others is because, some people care enough to correct people when they don’t speak well. Other people get more caught up in feelings than a desire to learn. And, they want to turn a history of doing things wrong into a source of cultural pride. Don’t be a silly snowflake and cry about manners. Plenty of people (from all races and ethnicities) say aks instead of ask. Some look at being corrected as constructive criticism, while others want to make a race issue out of something that has nothing to do with race. White people have been arguing over whether you should say ask or aks for at least 1200 years (well before what you’re trying to explain poorly). Don’t believe me? Try talking to someone from Ireland?
Retinas
It’s only correct within vernacular forms of language. It hasn’t become standardized, because you can’t have two standard forms, by definition.
As a note to all: "axe" came before "ask".
I have more of a problem with the nonexistent biblical term itself. The twenty-first century concept of missionary simply didn't exist in the first century. I want to tell them to go make some tents like Paul the apostle. And even he didn't use the term missionary.
Thank you! ❤
Are you nothing, or are you a little of everything? Use what speaks to you, discard the rest.
Self awarenes is a curse. Its all suffering.
The worst is when people say they had children so someone would take care of them in their old age. What?!
I like this guy. Yes, check in with the kids😂😂😂❤
I have watched videos of you, your father and brother on RUclips. You are all very analytical and thinking... what I'm just wondering... why going through so much trouble on evangelical stuff? It's as if you have become fundamentally exevangelical... like a pendulum swinging from one side to the other, but still very much fundamentalist.... and trying to convince the audience that you're centrist.
I thought the flannelgraph shout out was going to be the best part..and then it got better!
JFC, it's so ridiculous. Brings to mind the 'CD burning parties' my church held to help the kids in the youth group purge themselves of their devil music. Felt a little too 'World War 2-ish' for my liking, and so I eventually left.
I haven’t felt so seen in weeks 🙂 thanks
I respect that
The amount of people still commenting on my comment, several months after the fact, to chastise me for my choice of a child free life and preach their religion is insane. Raging Internet trolls giving life advice is the height of irony. 😂
you are so right!
We are the consciousness of the universe, made by it to observe itself
Book publishing is so weird. I read David Halberstam's book The Children, about the SNCC, the Freedom Riders, and the Civil Rights movement of the early 1960s. At the end of the book, Halberstam just mentions in his acknowledgements that Gunnar Myrdal's An American Dilemma is the best, most insightful book he's ever read.... So, I decided to get a copy.... Jesus Mary--all the copies are ridiculously expensive.... I ended up getting a hardcover 1962 edition from a Goodwill somewhere for a hundred bucks---which was below market value, from what I could see..... But that book is totally worth it. Halberstam was right. Even though it was written in 1944, it's still very contemporary..... My point is, the fact there's lots of demand, for a book that's out of print? Seemingly, that doesn't mean jack. Gustav Hasford's books about the Vietnam War (The Short-Timers and The Phantom Blooper) are long out of print, and insanely hard to find.

I wonder how much his relationship with his father is behind this.
